Festival a/d Werf is een jaarlijks terugkerend tiendaags festival in mei dat opduikt op verschillende locaties in Utrecht. Het presenteert eigen producties die de grenzen van het theater opzoeken, temidden van een internationaal programma van voorstellingen, installaties en muziek. Het is een festival voor jonge, beginnende kunstenaars en kunstenaars die hun sporen al verdiend hebben. Zij tonen hun werk aan toeschouwers die hun eigen perspectief durven te bevragen. Met performances, beeldend werk, (gratis) muziekoptredens, nagesprekken, workshops, debat, eten & drinken. Bekijk nu nog het programma van 2011 op deze website.

In 2012 vindt het 27e Festival a/d Werf plaats van 17 t/m 26 mei. Wat tipjes van de sluier:
- Floris van Delft schept in zeven dagen een nieuwe staat met het publiek. Iedere dag staat in het teken van een bepaald thema: gezondheidszorg, onderwijs, etc. (Huis a/d Werf productie)
- De competitie De stand van het land heeft twee winnaars opgeleverd: Julian Hetzel (in 2010 te zien op het festival met de lecture-performance The Benefactor) en Rory de Groot & Aukje Dekker. Beide schetsen met hun voorstelling een doorsnede van Nederland. (Huis a/d Werf producties)
- Stefan Kaegi (Rimini Protokoll, DE) en Lola Arias (AR) brengen een serie locatievoorstellingen in Parallel Cities: de ene keer in een hotel, dan weer ene fabriek, de volgende op het station of in een winkelcentrum.
- Ook Willi Dorner (AT) bespeelt de stad: in Urban Drifting zoeken zijn dansers de openbaarheid op straat.

Festival a/d Werf is an annual festival that pops up at a wide range of locations, steeping the city of Utrecht in culture for ten days each May. Festival a/d Werf presents original productions created by artists who explore the boundaries of theatre, and places them within the context of an international programme. It is a festival for artists with a unique view on the world and for audiences unafraid of questioning their own perspectives. With performances, visual art, (free) music events, evaluations, workshops, debate, food & drink, and parties. You can still go through the festival 2011 programme on this website.

In 2012, the 27th Festival a/d Werf takes place from 17 - 26 May. A few highlights:
- Floris van Delft creates a new state in seven days, together with the audience. Every evening has a certain topic, like health care or education. (Huis a/d Werf production)
- The competition De stand van het land (The state of the state) delivered us two winners: Julian Hetzel (in 2010 on the festival with his lecture-performance The Benefactor) and Rory de Groot & Aukje Dekker. They both make a cross-cut of The Netherlands in their performances. (Huis a/d Werf productions)
- Stefan Kaegi (Rimini Protokoll, DE) and Lola Arias (AR) bring a series of site-specific performances in Parallel Cities: first in a hotel or factory, then again at the train station or in a shopping centre.
- Willi Dorner (AT) also plays with the city: in Urban Drifting, his dancers seek publicity in the streets.
